PCEP Self-Assessment


Based on our experience implementing the AVANCE Parent-Child Education Program (PCEP) in new communities, we have devised several preliminary guidelines to determine if an organization is equipped to implement the program. AVANCE welcomes the opportunity to discuss program components and delivery options within each organization’s existing services.

Take the PCEP Self-Assessment to measure your organizational readiness:

______ Population – Your target population on must align with the goals of AVANCE’s PCEP,  specifically dedicated to serving communities that are:

  • Socially and/or Geographically Marginalized
  • Low-Income and/or Impoverished
  • Under-Educated

______ Mission – Your mission should be in alignment with the AVANCE mission to “unlock America’s potential by strengthening families in at-risk communities through effective parent education on and support programs.”

______ Staffing – Your staff will be critical to successful PCEP implementation on in your community. Staff must have a genuine desire to help parents support their children’s and personal development. (Staff requirements)

______ Program Facilities and Space – Adequate space to run PCEP is essential to fostering a nurturing and safe environment. PCEP services can be provided in a variety of settings:

  • Schools
  • Community Centers
  • Places of Worship
  • Housing Projects

______ Resources and Sustainability – AVANCE requires the organization to have and maintain a strong, stable and sustainable funding base prior to PCEP implementation.
